Brooks @ 13 months

In the hustle and bustle of last week, I completely forgot about writing Brooks' 13 month post.  His 13 month birthday was a week ago today - sorry friends :(  Forgive me.

Here is a picture of the 13 month-old cutie -

And here are 13 fun facts about my Brooksie:

  1. He's a great little eater - for lunch today he had chicken delight, mac and cheese, rolls and homemade chocolate pudding. YUMMY!
  2. He's trying to run, which has recently resulted in a few boo-boos.
  3. He looks JUST like Brandon when he was young.  Don't believe it?  Check out this photo of Brandon -

      4.  He has learned to blow kisses.
      5.  He loves to swing, as evidenced in the pic below.

        6.  He and his brother have officially started fighting over toys.  He holds his own pretty well.
        7.  He's not afraid of animals, big or small.
        8.  Whenever we're out on the town, people always comment on two things about Brooks - his cheeks and his curls.
        9.  He's getting more and more impatient about sitting in his high chair.  He starts screaming and pointing down to the ground.
       10. Closed doors are no longer a good barrier -

       11.  He has 3 molars and one more just under the gum.
       12.  He dances.  SOOOOO cute!
       13.  When asked where his "button" is, he pulls up his shirt, points to his belly (nowhere near his belly button) and says "dissssss."

Brooks is such a sweet boy - but we are starting to deal with his little temper tantrums.  He's certainly not ashamed to plop down on the floor and wail.  That's okay though.  I've logged a few hours of experience with those, thanks to his still-throwing-tantrums older brother ;)  He has also had his first stomach bug this month.  That was awful, but worth noting for his 13th month.  He is also constantly moving.  He doesn't stay still for long and not much holds his attention.  Things that hold his attention include shoes, snacks, and paper wrappers (that fruit snacks or popsicles come in).

He points to everything and says "Diss" or "Duh?"  We're working on getting him to say his words rather than whine for everything - snack, cup, up, toy, milk...... these are things he constantly whines for, but doesn't say.

Big brother Will turns 3 on the 24th of this month.  I'm trying to decide if I can handle 36 fun facts about him.  :/

I'll be back soon with an update on Brandon.  He has his surgery follow-up visit tomorrow afternoon, so we'll have more news then.  Keep praying for us!  Please and thank you :)
