What a wonderful weekend!

It's weekends like this that make you love being a Georgian!  70 degrees and sunny in January!  That doesn't mean it won't be snowing in two weeks, but I think mother nature gives us these little treasures to get us through those cold spells.

The weather was absolutely perfect, so we spent most of each day outside with our boys.  We rode tractors and cozy coupes, raked (and unraked) the leaves, and practiced our shaky bike-riding skills.  And the weekend wouldn't be complete without someone eating something gross - needless to say, Brooks learned that leaves and grass are not as yummy as they look!

Will insisted on being crammed into the Cozy Coupe.  Once he figured out how uncomfortable it was, he said "I think I'm too tall, or maybe this car's too little."

What a big boy!

We're all back to the grind tomorrow - work and grandma's.  I've got loads of birthday party planning to do in the coming weeks, along with Grand Jury duty :)  Fun times.

Brooks @ 11 months old

I can't believe I am saying this, but Brooks will be 11 months old tomorrow!  Hmmmm - what was I doing this time last year??  Oh yeah! I remember - I was 9 months pregnant with a 10 lb baby!  Oh what a miserable wonderful time it was.  But enough about me.... let's talk about Brooks.

Here he is this afternoon, playing with his brother and being adorable (as usual)...

In honor of his 11-month birthday, I've compiled a list of 11 of his most current or distinguishing characteristics this month. (This is another reason I have started this blog - to have a time capsule of sorts of sweet memories of my family).  So without further delay...

11.  He waves "bye-bye" when asked.
10.  He loves to hide his eyes and play "where's the baby?"  (This is super fun because he never successfully covers his eyes fully, but you can tell how excited he is to be playing).
9.  He is walking, but still unsteady in shoes or changing surfaces - carpet to hardwood, etc...
8.  He loves to take baths with Will and SPLASH SPLASH SPLASH!
7.  He is eating mostly table food, with a little baby food every now and again (mostly when Mommy is too lazy to cook!)
6.  He loves whole milk, but still gets a couple of formula bottles a day.
5.  He has 7.5 teeth (the 8th tooth is just under the gum).
4.  He HATES grits - I don't blame him here.
3.  He is somewhat of a momma's boy and definitely wants my attention at all times when I'm around.
2.  One of his favorite pastimes is playing in the curtains.
1.  His newest development - making the "motor" sound while playing with trains, trucks and tractors.

I can't really describe how this little guy warms my heart.  He is just the greatest thing that could have ever happened to our little family of three.  He and his brother are so sweet together.  Every morning when Will wakes up, he goes straight to "Brooksie's" room to check on him.  This generally involves Will slinging his door open and abruptly turning on the overhead light, but hey it's the thought.... right?

Here we go a blogging...

Well, I have finally decided to take the plunge and start a family blog of some sort.  I'm not sure what you should expect from this blog.  As my life generally revolves around life with my husband and two small boys, I anticipate that most of my postings will be about them.  Having said that, I am a complicated girl with an ever-changing game plan, so don't be surprised if some of my posts deviate from that genre from time to time :)

Those of you who know me well, know that I love to write.  I have always enjoyed writing and even once held a job as a Sr. Communications Writer for a Fortune 500 company.  Within the last year, I have made a "life change" and taken a new job with less hours (those sweet boys will only be young once after all), so my mind and my fingers have been itching to write.  Hopefully, this blog will relieve some of my longings.  I have been told that blogs are easily neglected.  I can see how that is possible.  I hope this will not be one of those blogs, as I usually have lots to talk about :)  My goal is to post at least once a week, although  I would love to post more often.  I guess we will see!

SO - follow me, check back often, make me a favorite!  Many of you are Facebook friends and enjoy the occasional one-liners from Will, or an update on my little Brooks.  This blog will be filled with lots of those stories, pictures, and updates.  AND hopefully, for people like my Aunt Linda in OH, a constant reminder of her family away from home.

I leave you with a few of my favorite pics of my family from the past year... Enjoy!
